Hardwork
TASTED DUST - King Davey
The silver that feeds him
They catch the eyes of all that see him
And admiration is just the beginning
The toils and sweats
Hidden beneath his wealth
They are covered by the glittering gold
And skipped when his story's being told
He had been on the floor
And knows just how it feels
He's been poor before
Tasted poverty to its fill
Those alone times
When only the sun knew his work
Because it had been with him the whole time
The times when he put the ground to test
Working all day just to give his best
He worked till the sun stopped to watch
So engrossed in his job, he forgot his friend was gone
Only the absence of this friend
Was the signal that work should end
With discipline and determination
He worked his way to this position
One would think the letter should be stamped on his face
Afterall, poverty had given him a warm embrace
But really that wasn't the case
His look had changed, and so had his taste
Truth be told
To be rich and famous
One must work
For the lazy can only be callous
Having only to watch and talk
As the diligent grows big and glorious
So before you dare sit and judge
Claiming corruption or probably drugs
Know that hard work does pay
If only you can be patient to wait
